From cruises to 5Ks, Urban Agenda outlines a myriad of events in New Jersey to celebrate Mom.
According to the Presby’s “Bloom Status” on their website, their irises should be at their peak in the third week of May, just before Mother’s Day. On May 14, the Essex County Memorial Iris Gardens will host a live jazz concert and outdoor picnic where sandwiches, lemon square desserts, chips and drinks will be offered in boxed lunches. Lawn chairs will be provided, but guests are welcome to cozy up with their own picnic blanket. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes access to the Bloom Room Gift Shop and a plant sale. Tickets are $20/person.
Celebrate mom for an entire weekend at this award-winning resort at 1 Wild Turkey Way in Hamburg. The Sussex County golf resort will be offering brunches, buffets, and 3-course dinners at their five resort locations on May 14. A spa package and a free game of golf are also available for moms to enjoy.
What better way to celebrate Mom than with a weekend of wine? The Mother’s Day Wine Trail Weekend, organized by the Garden State Wine Growers Association, is running May 13-14 from noon to 5 p.m. and includes tastings, music, brunches, and more at wineries from Sussex to Cape May.

Make this year’s Mother’s Day a homerun by taking Mom to see the Trenton Thunder versus Harrisburg on May 14 at 1 p.m. During the game, head over to the stadium’s Yankee Club & Conference Center for their annual Mother’s Day brunch and baseball event that is complete with a Beach Tote Giveaway. It’s a win for the entire family!
