Spotlighted by culinary fans across the tri-state area, Bistro d’Azur is overseen by Executive Chef Richard Krug. Using local ingredients, Mediterranean flavors, North African spices, and classical French technique, d’Azur is always a memorable occasion.
Chef Krug was formerly executive chef at Whispers Restaurant in Spring Lake and chef de cuisine at Restaurant Lorena’s in Maplewood. Locals will also recognize him from Restaurant K at Orange Lawn Tennis Club (https://www.orangelawn.com/). Krug is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and has worked at the renowned Oyster Bar at Grand Central Station (https://www.oysterbarny.com/).
Bistro d’Azur’s interior design was envisioned by Tom Conway of Rosen Kelly Conway & Architecture Design in Summit (https://rkcad.com/). Conway is a history enthusiast and frequently plays with elements of light, artistry, and nostalgia, which is evident in the restaurant’s “French blue” tin ceiling, original paintings, and antique wooden details.
