You won’t have to travel far to get a taste of Belgium’s traditional Liege waffles thanks to Princeton’s newest foodie hotspot, Nina’s Waffles. Set to open on April 19 at 252 Nassau Street, Nina’s Waffles will be offering a wide array of sweet and savory treats, with a special highlight on their famous traditional Liege waffles.

According to co-owners Tom Pappas and Mike Fanourgakis, Nina’s Waffles aren’t your average waffles. They are the hard-to-find selection that comes coated in crispy caramelized sugar only to reveal a warm, soft center. They are the rare scratch-made treats that are usually tucked away in a small town bakery in Europe. But now, thanks to Belgium-native and founder of Nina’s Waffles, Louis Zanias, they are the waffles of Princeton. Spiked with imported pearl sugar and hints of vanilla and honey, Nina’s Waffles are best enjoyed with the shop’s handcrafted ice cream that uses local milk and cream with no added hormones. Baked on premises, Nina’s ice cream comes in 130+ flavors, with 24 options available in shop at a time. Among their inventive ice cream options are Double Espresso, Key Lime Raspberry, Sea Salt Caramel and Saltine Crack. Top the ice cream and waffle with Dulce de Leche, Nutella, or another one of their various toppings, and you have yourself a triple threat.

As if it couldn’t get any more delicious, Nina’s is making sure Princetonions enjoys breakfast all day long with their new savory line of waffles. Menu highlights include sharp cheddar mac-n-cheese, sausage stuffing, and mashed Yukon gold potatoes, just to name a few.

In addition to their waffles and ice cream, Nina’s will offer catering trays, ice cream cakes, cookies and more. The Princeton shop will be open all day, seven days a week. For details on Nina’s Waffles, visit:
