Volunteers Needed for MLK Day of Service and Celebration

MLK Day of Service 2023 will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, January 16 at Mercer County Community College’s James Kerney campus located at 102 North Broad Street in Trenton. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Speakers and performers will lead a presentation at 2 p.m. and this year’s keynote speaker is the Rev. Toby Sanders. Sanders will speak on the subject of “First Steps."

“There are a number of ways to get involved to honor and celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,” said Stacy Denton, director of TRIO Upward Bound at MCCC’s James Kerney campus. “We are signing up volunteers for Trenton-area service projects and accepting donations of a wide variety of personal items for those in need.”

Denton continued, “Every little bit helps, so consider this a day on rather than a day off and join us in giving back to the community.”
